For The Love of Bikes Bikers and Brotherhood, Inc. is an IRS documented 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization that provides financial support for families in select counties of North Texas (Collin, Cooke, Denton, Fannin, Grayson and Lamar) and Oklahoma counties (Bryan, Carter, Love and Marshall) affected by catastrophic events and help provide for immediate family needs.
Our organization was originally founded to help a fellow motorcycle enthusiast who had been involved in a motorcycle crash. This single parent was gainfully employed; however, the company, where they were employed did not provide cost effective health insurance. Due to the severity of their injuries and the extended time required to recover, the company decided to terminate their employment. Fellow motorcycle enthusiasts got together to see how to best help this family. Through, hard work and determination, our group formed “For the Love of Bikes, Bikers, and Brotherhood” and organized and held our inaugural event in August of 2017 to help this family. After the event we asked, “What could we do next?” We found that not only members of the motorcycle community were in need when family needs arose or life altering events occurred, but many members of the Texoma community needed immediate help when these things happen, and they lacked funds or help as a stop gap before a more substantial solution could be attained.

After our inaugural event we expanded our mission to include all those who live in our selected Texoma and North Texas counties. Our service area, while served by other charitable organizations, is not the most densely populated nor has as many dedicated charitable organizations as other more populated areas, and we felt that we should serve our Texoma and North Texas community first.
We have had the privilege of helping members of our community effected from everything from cancer treatments to kidney transplants to house fires to injuries. This help with immediate needs associated with these crises; medical deductibles, rent, food, utilities and funeral expenses is provided because of the generous giving motorcycle community that we love so much. This is an experience like no other each time we have a benefit, showing the love of our community to all of our Texoma and North Texas Community.
We began in August of 2017 due to the need to help a young man that we loved very much after a severe motorcycle accident. I could not make it better. I couldn’t take his injuries away and I couldn’t make his body whole again but I needed to do what I could do and that was try to help him and his young son financially. Never having done a benefit before and not having any standing in the biker community myself and the fact that I choose to be as much behind the scene as possible we needed a name to stand behind. I was messaging this young man while he was still in the hospital and I was at a rally. I asked him if he thought he would ride again some day. His reply was. ” I don’t know but I will always love bikes, bikers and the brotherhood.” The light bulb in my head went off. Being amongst a large group of bikers at the time I immediately asked their opinion about calling the benefit that. They all thought it sounded great. That’s why as lengthy as it may be it is and always will be For The Love Of Bikes, Bikers and Brotherhood. Well I wanted to make sure I did this right and I knew I would be approaching people that did not know me for donations of auction items and shirt sponsorships. We needed a bank account to keep track of everything. My bank insisted we obtain an EIN number to open that account. So we did. The benefit was very successful. Especially considering it was our first one. Extremely hard work but well worth it. At this point I didn’t want to have gone through all that trouble for just that benefit. So who could we help next? Well there is no shortage of bikers in our community that need help so the opportunity came quickly and about the same time the next year we were hard at work again having our second even more successful benefit. Between these benefits I noticed people needing immediate funds for the burial expenses of a son or father or husband, wife, daughter, ect that lost their life in a motorcycle accident. I noticed people needing temporary assistance due to severe injuries or health issues or people having benefits that were not as successful as ours simply because we had the fortune of doing benefits for people well known in the biker community. Successful benefits take time and time is not what a funeral home or a landlord or utility company or that medical deductible will give you. So we decided to no longer do benefits for individuals but to switch to a fund to be drawn on to help in these situations. Suddenly we had no popular face to put on our benefits. We had to convince the biker community and help them understand that just like all the other faceless causes they eagerly support this was the same only it was for their fellow brothers and sisters and possibly even themselves. We have had the privilege of helping in everything from cancer to kidney transplants to house fires to injuries. All because of the generous giving biker community that we love so much. We have obtained our 501c3 non profit status to further our cause. We have expanded into helping outside of the biker community to include all members of the community.
